Obituary of Frances C. "Fran" White
Frances C. “Fran” White 77, of Franklin, TN, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 at her home. Fran was born on May 7, 1942 in Nashville, TN, the daughter of Richmond and Alleyne Lovelady Cone. She married Charles Hampton White, III, and they spent over 33 wonderful years together. Fran attended Vanderbilt University. She was a hard and dedicated worker, and she was the Director of the Central Business office for Sumner Regional Medical Center until her retirement 10 years ago. With such a big heart, Fran enjoyed taking care of everyone around her. She was a dedicated, loving, and strong mother who raised three boys. She had a great sense of humor and truly was the perfect aunt in the eyes of her nieces and nephew. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, she loved to travel. Fran even got her pilots license, and she would rent a plane and fly to the places she wanted to go. She loved the opera whether it be watching it on TV or going to see it live, and she enjoyed watching the Smithsonian channel. She was known for her love of shopping and showing up at birthday parties with a gift for the person for whom that party was for. But, she was also known for showing up with presents for everyone else. These presents would be known as “un-birthday” presents. Fran was greatly loved by her fellow colleagues, her family, and her friends. She will be truly missed, thought of often, and loved always. Surviving is her son, Todd Overbey and his wife, Stacey; sister, Sharen Jones; three grandchildren, Brook, Chase, and Ashley Overbey; four great grandchildren, Riot, Hampton, Colton, and Rylie; daughter in laws, Stacy Overbey and Pam Overbey; two nieces; and one nephew. Preceding her in death is her husband, Charles Hampton White, III; her parents; two sons, Edward Overbey and Clifton Overbey; and one sister, Betty Cone-Miller. A gathering of family and friends will be on August 24, 2019 from eleven o’clock in the morning until one o’clock in the afternoon with a Celebration of Life beginning at one o’clock with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Burial of cremated remains will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
