Geneva Imogene Scott Young passed on July 2, 2026, at the age of 90, having been born on November 17, 1935 in Maury County, TN. Passed away on July 2, 2026 after suffering from dementia for many years.
She is survived by sisters, Juanita S. Mong, of Coopersburg, PA and Carolyn S. King, Nashville TN. She also has several nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jerry T. Young; siblings Roberta Smith, Lucille Johnson, Bernice Holden, Mattie Wormel, Jackie Scott, and Bobby Floyd Kelley.
She worked for TDOT for 40+ years and held membership in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 66 years. She and Jerry were members of Arlington Methodist Church.
Due to dementia, she may not have remembered her family and friends but certainly those who knew her will always remember her sweet laughter and spirit.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
