Genivie Hoover

She was born in Jamestown, TN, on June 19, 1940. She graduated from York Institute and went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Motlow Business College. On March 17, 1973, she married Charles Hoover in Jamestown, TN.

Genivie built a 43-year career in the insurance industry with National Life / American General. Outside of work, she loved crossword puzzles and reading, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn Wright and Loma Wright; sister, Faye Wright; son-in-law, David Mortinsen; brother-in-law, Johnny Norris; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Hoover.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Hoover; daughter, Christy Mortinsen; grandchildren, Paige Cross (Hunter Cross) and Cassidy Dunigan (Colby Dunigan); great-grandchildren, Dallas Cross and David Cross; sisters, Pam Laytham (Lee Laytham) and Norma Norris; and brother-in-law, Joe Hoover. She is also survived by nephews Larry Hoover (Deanne Hoover) and Chad Laytham (Jennifer Laytham), and nieces Beth Smith (Randy Smith) and Lora Tompkins (Brian Tompkins), along with many other loved ones.

A crypt side service for Mrs. Hoover will be held on Wednesday. October 28, 2026 at 10:00am at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln., Nashville, TN 37204.
