
Preceded in death by her parents Geraldine Gallagher and Russell McCamie Crawford and her brother James Michael Crawford.
Survived by her loving husband Thomas A. Higgins and her children Katherine Higgins DeLay and William (Pete) Tilden DeLay; Thomas A. Higgins Jr. and Patricia Crohan Higgins; and John Francis Higgins II and Beth Ann Martin Higgins; and two grand children John Joseph (Jack) Higgins II and Caroline Rae Higgins; and her sister Katherine Crawford Darnell and her brother, Russell M. Crawford Jr. She is also survived by two devoted sisters-in-law Katherine (Kitty) Higgins Brogden and Margaret (Bitsy) Higgins Thompson.
She was graduated from Saint Cecilia Academy and Trinity Washington University, Washington, D.C.
The family wishes to express its appreciation for the loving care given her at the Woodcrest Heath Center and by the staff of the ICU at Saint Thomas Hospital.
Memorial gifts may be given to Saint Cecilia Academy, the Ladies of Charity, or The Cathedral of The Incarnation.
Pallbearers will be her nephews John Vernon Brogden; David Walton Thompson, Colonel Frank Joseph Thompson, William (Bill) Gregory Thompson, Dean Thomas Howell, and William Carter Hendrick.
Honorary pallbearers include: Raymond Franklin Runyon of Clarkesville, Tennessee, and The Honorable William J. Haynes
The funeral Mass of the Resurrection shall be offered on Friday, February 10, 2017, at The Cathedral of The Incarnation at 2:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017, at The Cathedral of The Incarnation before Mass.
Burial will be private at the family plot at Calvary Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee.
