

Glenda Simmons, age 85, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on April 8, 2024. She was born in Nashville on September 23, 1938, to the late Charles and Fannie Cantrell. Glenda graduated from Cathedral High School and went on to marry James L. Simmons on December 6, 1958, in Nashville, TN.
Glenda dedicated over 10 years of her career to Metro Government Sheriff's Office. She had a keen passion for decorating, cross-stitching and found immense joy in spending time with her great-grandchildren and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, James L. Simmons, her sons James R. Simmons and David (Elle) Simmons, her daughter Donna (Mike) Gosnell, her grandchildren Chelsea Lauren Gosnell, Justin (Lauren) Gosnell, and Evangeline Simmons, as well as her great-grandchildren Abigail Grace Gosnell, Lila-Kate Gosnell, and Leighton Dawn Gosnell. Glenda is also survived by her nephews Otto (Kerri) Toth, John (Lea) Toth, and Johnny (Pam) Carter.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, located at 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN. The funeral service will be held the following day, April 11, 2024, at 11:30 am, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, with entombment to follow.

Glenda will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness, love, and generosity.
