In loving memory of Glenn Douglas McDonald of Smyrna, TN, who passed away on July 29, 2026 at the age of 76. Glenn was born in Smith County, Tennessee on June 12, 1950. His family moved to Nashville, TN a year later where he grew up in Inglewood and attended school in the area. He graduated from the famed Isaac Litton High School and later obtained his bachelor's degree in business. He moved to Smyrna, TN in 1996 where he stayed to be close to his daughter and grandson.
He was proceeded in death by his parents David McDonald and Marian Ashley McDonald and sister Marcia Shuffett.
Glenn is survived by devoted family members, daughter Meredith (Dontay) Turner, grandson Tremayne (Ashley) McDonald, great granddaughter Anaiya McDonald, sisters Kathy Mott, Debbie (Larry) East, Janice McDonald, and longtime, loving companion Linda Cossiboom as well as a host of amazing nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.
The only thing Glenn enjoyed more than laughing was making others laugh. Many will remember him for his jokes and wise cracks, or a whistle down the hall. He was also well known to show those he cared about his love through acts of kindness, especially if it meant he got to use power tools, and by making sure he got his Christmas cards with matching envelope and labels mailed out each year.
He enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout the years including bowling league, golf was a big favorite, scuba diving, and of course travel, having the opportunity to visit places such as Canada, Mexico, and many states across the USA, Florida being a big favorite due to his love of fresh shrimp. His more recent favorite travel being regular trips to the beautiful Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg Tennessee with his loving companion and researching and cooking new recipes with his kitchen appliances.
Glenn was proud of his many years of service with Beaman Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. and then, where he later retired from, Ford Motor Credit (Primus) where he made so many great friends and connections.
He was a fighter, he cheated death more times than any average man could, and was blessed to always have the love and support of so many family and friends throughout the years. He didn't primarily fight for himself, but was motivated by the desire to be there for those who loved and needed him most. He was so proud of his daughter, grandson and new great granddaughter.

A celebration of Glenn's Life will be held on August 5, 2026 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, 37204. Open visitation from noon to 2:00pm with a few words and burial to immediately follow.
