Grace Ledford Gowan Peal

Mrs. Peal was born in Chestnut Ridge, TN, on July 31, 1920 the daughter of the late Jim B. Gowan and Mary Sue Ledford Gowan. Mrs. Peal retired from Sears after many years of service. She was a member of Granny White Church of Christ in Nashville, West Metro Church of Christ in Dallas, GA and Clear Creek Church of Christ in Hixson, TN. Mrs. Peal loved God and her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peal was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Peal and a son, James W. Peal, Sr.

Survivors include a daughter, Louise Thornberry of Chattanooga, TN; four grandchildren, James W. Peal, Jr. and Sheri Peal Dupree both of Dallas, GA and Bruce Thornberry and Iris Thornberry Rodger both of Chattanooga, TN; and great-grandchildren, Kara Peal Coats, Jessie Peal, Craig Dupree, Grant Dupree, Mason Dupree, Olivia Rodger, and Alexia Rodger.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 6, 2016, at eleven thirty, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Friday from nine o’clock until eleven o’clock at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a church of your choice.
