

Harold Gene Roberts Sr., affectionately known as Shorty or Gene, passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on March 7, 1932, to Edith and George Roberts, Gene was a brave, adventurous, compassionate, humorous, and hard-working individual who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A native of the United States and a proud Navy veteran, Shorty was renowned for his love of camping, fishing, and boating. He was a man who enjoyed keeping active, whether it was swimming across a lake, climbing trees, or sharing a good joke. Gene was known for his humorous, generous, kind-hearted, compassionate, and thoughtful nature. He was a people's person, a joy to be around, and brought laughter and warmth to those in his presence.
He is survived by his children, Catrinia (Jeff) Roberts Wilson, Harold (Teresa) Gene Roberts Jr., and Amy Allen. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Angela (Loyd) Morris, Curtis Roberts, Joey Roberts, Ashley Saunders, Jamie Saunders, Candace Allen, Stan Allen, as well as his great-grandchildren, Carson, Peyton, Jaxon, Owen, Carter, Aliya, Sam, Olivia, Kameron, Kayden, Bryson, Brayden, Sophia, Angelina, and Matthew. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Ann Gilbert, and cousins, Butch and Tommy Dawes.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith Roberts, his sibling, Thelman Roberts, and his grandchild, Jeffrey Flansburg, along with the mother of his children Lena Roberts.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Another gathering will take place at the same location on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with a service to follow. After celebration of life service, the committal and interment will take place at 2:30 p.m.
Harold Gene Roberts Sr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and compassionate heart.
