She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Victor Simpson, and her daughter Valerie Zager Landa and husband Adam, stepdaughter Rachel S. Halford and husband Todd, and stepson Nicholas “Nick” Simpson and wife Jenny. She was the loving grandmother to Abby and Zach Landa, Hunter Halford, and Camden and Colton Simpson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as lifelong friends and neighbors.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband Harry R. Zager, and brother-in-law James “Jimmy” Cockerham.
The family is grateful to the leadership and staff of NHC Place at the Trace for their compassion and dedication to her care.
There will be a graveside service for family and close friends at 2:00 pm, April 12, at the Congregation Micah Cemetery.
Her passion was her dogs, past and present, so in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Nashville Humane Association. She was also a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
