Haywood Petrie Norman III, age 100, longtime resident of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on November 3rd, 2026. He is preceded in death by his Wife: Virginia Norman, Parents: Lucille Gaines Norman, Haywood P. Norman, Jr., Children: Charles McKinley Norman, William Edward Norman, Elizabeth Gaines Norman Montgomery, Dorothy Lucille Norman Kim, Sons-in-Law: Daniel Ward, Greg Montgomery, Grandchildren: Rachel Ward, Charles Norman II, Great Grandchild: Stephen Sullivan, Grandson-in-law: David Case.
He is survived by his Children: Haywood (MaryAnn) Petrie Norman IV, Charles (Connie)Runion, Melinda Ward, and Michelle Lepley; Grandchildren: Heather Norman, Tara (Shawn) Duncan, Star Laurence, Betsy Case, Tammy Stansberry, James Stansberry, Shauna (Jude) Pischke, Charlie (Elizabeth) Runion, Caroline (Stephen) McDonald, Grace(Greg) Hernandez, Alexander (Kelsey) Lepley, Adam Lepley, Tia (Ryan) Inman, and many great grandchildren and great-great children.
He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War as he served in the army. He was an active member of the McWhirtersville Masonic Lodge for 72 years and a Shriner. He was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church Donelson. He worked in his career at Avco for 52 years as a tool and dye machinist.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Mount Olivet Funeral Home; 1101 Lebanon Pike, Nashville TN 37210. Visitation will take place prior, at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow the Funeral Service at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
