I met this lovely woman and her family near Christmas 2002. We were new to Nashville and knew very few people. My own mother had died from ALS that October at the age of 68. Having been active in the ALS Chapter in Dallas where we just moved from I reached out to the ALS Chapter in Nashville ( they connected me with Heather.) My heart was telling me I needed to show love and support to another family experiencing the effects of ALS. In a dream, I was moved to show that support by offering to decorate someone's home for Christmas. That someone was Heather and Bubba. Knowing the toll that caregiving can take I had hoped this would be one small way to brightened their holiday. Heather was gracious, kind and appreciative. After that meeting, we remained friends although my own young family kept me from visiting much after those first two years. I enjoyed following her posts on FB and prayed for her always. God bless your family through your grief.

I knew her as a student at Hillwood and also as a friend on Facebook. Her attitude was always positive. May she rest in peace

Heather,
Thank you for showing unconditional love to others. You were there through the up and downs life brought along the journey.
I have fond memories of the times we spend together. You were always joyful and share laughter with me. You are a prime example of Never give up Hope.
I love you dearly,
Allison Pratt-Elliott
