

Helen Coleman Keen, age 93 of Nashville, passed away December 28th, 2016, with her daughter by her side. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 63 years, James W. Keen, Jr.; sons, James W. Keen, III, & Stephen M. Keen; parents, Henry and Edna Coleman; siblings, Louise Gilmore, Nancy Gibson, Ann Summer, Henry Coleman, Donald Coleman, Howard Coleman, and Porter Gatlin. Helen is now holding hands with James, and he is singing "You are my Sunshine" to her. She was a wonderful, uplifting, positive, supportive, strong, and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She was a member of Radnor Baptist Church and Sunset Hills Baptist Church for 60+ years. She dedicated her life to working with the youth in her early years at Radnor. Helen is survived by her daughter, Marcia Keen. She loved her family beyond measure and often said "the most important thing I ever did was to be a mother to my children." They were so blessed that she was their Mom. A celebration of Helen's life will be held on Saturday, December 31st at 1:00pm in the chapel of Mt. Olivet Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Durham officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be two hours prior to the service starting at 11:00am.
