Born in Scotland to Presbyterian missionaries, was raised in the Belgian Congo, and came to America at the age of 16.She eventually moved to Nashville Tennessee, retiring from Baptist Hospital after a long career as a pediatric nurse. Helen is preceded in death by husband of 50 years, John N. Knowles Sr., parents the Reverend Dr. John & Mary Morrison, sister Jeanette Norris, and brother Ian Morrison. She is survived by her loving children Linda (John) Crego, John (Jenell) Knowles Jr., Elaine Reed, and Gary Knowles, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral home located at 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville TN 37204Visitation will be Wednesday April 19th from 4 pm until 8 pm, and Thursday April 20th from 9 am until 11:30 am. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 20th beginning at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The congregation of Glencliff Presbyterian Church, of which the Knowles family are Charter members, are honorary pallbearers.
