

Helen Duckson Wright. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2011, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Marshall Sheldon Wright, her parents Marguerite Giraud Duckson and Howard Duckson, and her brother, Maurice Duckson,
Helen was born Wednesday June 1, 1921 in Washington DC, grew up in Northern Virginia, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from George Washington University. She married Marshall during World War II, and after he returned, they spent their years together in Virginia, Texas, New York, and Nashville. The passions of her life were caring for her family, France and her French heritage, poetry and literature, and nature. She led nature walks for children for the National Wildlife Federation in Virginia for many years.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are three daughters, Kathleen Tibone (Jim) of Hermosa Beach, California, Virginia Wright-Frierson (Dargan) of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Elizabeth Wright (Paul Moots) of Nashville; her devoted grandchildren, Dargan Michael and Amy Wright Frierson, Vincent Tibone, and Hannah and Skyler Moots; and many caring relatives and friends.
A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, March 9th, at 1 p.m., Second Presbyterian Church, Belmont Boulevard. Donations in her memory may be made to Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) Chapter C, or to Friends of Radnor Lake.
