Howard Steven Anderson

He is survived by his aunts, Lois Anderson of Nashville and Joan Neely of Knoxville; his uncle, Aaron Neely of Crossville; and his cousins, Tara Dyer of Knoxville and Billy Neely Jr. of Louisiana.

Steven was a passionate music enthusiast. In his younger years, if there was a rock concert in town, chances are he was there. He began playing guitar at a young age and developed a lifelong love of music. He attended Middle Tennessee State University before a tragic automobile accident interrupted his career dreams. Through the love and support of family and friends, he courageously recovered but he sustained a traumatic brain injury from the accident. His disability never damped his spirit to live life.

In later years, Steven enjoyed his daily routine in Donelson. He spent countless hours at the YMCA, pursuing his second passion of physical fitness while socializing with the many friends he made. During the summer months, he enjoyed spending days at the Wave Country water park. He also treasured karaoke nights at American Legion Post 88 and meals at Fifty Forward and the many friends made.

Steven leaves behind many caring neighbors on Woodberry Drive in Donelson who looked after him following the passing of his mother. His family would like them to know how much Steven appreciated their kindness and friendship. A special thank you is extended to his neighbors, Bill and Sandra, who always kept a watchful eye on him.

The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The McKendree, who cared for Steven for nearly three years, and to Alive Hospice, whose compassionate care helped make his final days comfortable and peaceful.

A Graveside Service will be held at Mount Olivet Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1101 LEBANON PIKE, NASHVILLE, TN 37210, US, on October 1, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
