

ALLEN, JR., James "Jimmy" W. Age 86 of Nashville, TN. Jimmy was born in Nashville, TN on the 5th of October 1925 to the late James W. Allen, Sr. and Helen Burt Allen. In his youth, he was a graduate of Hillsboro High School where he excelled in football. That extracurricular activity followed him into the years he served his country while in the U.S. Navy during WWII and throughout out his college years spent at Vanderbilt. His pursuit of higher learning gleaned him an education in accounting from Vanderbilt University, and eventually a law degree from Vanderbilt School of Law. From that, Jimmy went on to have a long distinguished career as a CPA in Nashville, TN. He will also be remembered as a Past Master, Corinthian Lodge 414; as a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, being named a 33rd degree Mason for his knowledge, passion, and selfless service; for his election into the Royal Order of Jesters; and for being a founding member and past president of Hillwood Country Club. Jimmy was a long time member of West End Methodist Church with his current membership now being at Hillwood Presbyterian Church. He is preceded in death by wife, Jeanne Faircloth Allen; brother, Thomas B. Allen; and daughter, Donna Leigh Allen. He is survived by loving wife of six years, Gail Booth Allen; daughter, Patti Allen (Michael) Tuohy; son, Jay (Beth) Allen; grandson, Chris Allen; nieces, Melissa Allen (Louis) Maresca, Hilary Allen, Gale Faircloth Brown; and nephews, Ivo (Vickie) Allen, Richard Faircloth; and. Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation with the family from five o'clock this afternoon until seven o'clock this evening at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at three o'clock in the afternoon of Thursday, August 23, 2012 officiated by Rev. Dr. Rik F. Rouquie, Jr. at Hillwood Presbyterian Church with visitation beginning at two o'clock before the service commences. Prior to the memorial service, the family will have gathered for a private graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions in Jimmy's memory may be directed to Alive Hospice or to Hillwood Presbyterian Church.
