Gaylon was a loving husband and a friend to many. He always had a smile on his face, and he never met a stranger. He loved to hunt, fish, and have a great time with his family and friends.
Gaylon is preceded in death by his parents, Bertie Austin and Claude Austin; an aunt, Hazel Tomlin; and a brother, Gary Austin.
He leaves to cherish in memory his loving wife, Cindy Austin of Smyrna; a sister, Claudia (Greg) Surratt of Knoxville; brothers Gene Austin of Celina, and Larry Austin of Knoxville; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Mount Olivet Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1101 LEBANON PIKE, NASHVILLE, TN 37210, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
