James Herbert Brown, Jr. Age 93, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 19, 2018 at NHC at the Trace in Bellevue, TN. He was born November 3, 1924 in Nashville, TN to the late James Herbert and Ether Pearl Brown of Nashville. He attended Peabody Demonstration School in Nashville and then joined the US Navy as a pilot during WWII. He was a faithful member and elder of the Belmont Church in Nashville for many years. Brown, as he was affectionately called by his wife, Katherine, was predeceased by his sister, Francis Baucom, parents James Herbert Brown Sr., and Ether Pearl Wheeler Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Katherine Corley Brown, daughter Elaine (Bob) Harris, Nashville, and by his son James H. Brown III, St. Louis, MO., Two grandchildren, Kathy Harris, McKinney, TX, and Steve (Amy) Harris, McKinney, TX; four grandchildren, Conner, Morgan, William and Andrew Harris; Brothers-in-law Bill Baucom and Bill (Sue) Corley; and nieces, nephews and friends.
The immediate family will have a private graveside ceremony. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at the Belmont Church, Nashville, TN on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018: the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30, with a service to follow.
