James Glenn Eaden, 81, passed away on December 15, 2018. Glenn was born on July 29, 1937, son of the late Clyde and Oleeta Eaden. He is survived by wife of 59 years, Ann Abbay Eaden, daughter, Abbay Blankenship (Tim), granddaughter, Ella Blankenship, and sister, Ann Mayo. Glenn graduated from East Nashville High School in 1955, attended MTSU on a football scholarship and graduated in 1959. He was also a member of the Army ROTC, serving in the Army and the Army Reserve following his graduation.
Upon the completion of his active military service, he returned to work at Southern Machinery Company where he had been employed as a part time high school and college student. Glenn was an engineer in the aggregate business and was regarded as an industry leader. He became President and Owner of Southern Machinery Company in 1987. Glenn was an avid pilot for over 50 years, allowing him to commute to job sites and enjoy personal travel.
Glenn was a long time member of the Downtown Rotary Club, Tennessee Road Builders Association, Associated Equipment Distributors, Ionic Lodge #254 Free and Accepted Masons, and a past president of Hillwood County Club.
A lover of fine food and wine, Glenn was a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs, Societe Mondiale du Vin, and Commaderie de Bordeaux.
Friends and family are invited to a casual gathering in his honor at Hillwood Country Club on Saturday December 29, 2018 from 3-6 p.m.
