

James "Jim" Albert Ford, age 89, of Brentwood, Tennessee passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, April 11, 2022. Jim was born March 30, 1933 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late, James Claude and Bessie Rayburn Ford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas Ford, Jo Nell Crosier, Donald Ford, Martha Sue Hassey and Mary Lou Sherrod.
Jim is survived by the love of his life of 57 years, his wife, Zoraida Vallejo Ford of Brentwood; son, James Rayburn Ford, of Brentwood; daughter, Julie Ford (Bill) DuPree of Knoxville; Thomas (Lindsey) Edward Ford, of Brentwood; grandchildren, Anna DuPree, Ellee Ford, Will DuPree, James Ford, Jake Plymel, Walker Ford; siblings, Claudine Ford and Donna Jean White.
Jim served during the Korean War in the United States Army and was a 32nd degree Master Mason in the Scottish Rite.
Jim also served the Home Builders Association of Middle Tennessee, at every level, local, state and national: he served as the HBAMT President twice, Builder of the Year in 1975 and 1990, Tennessee Builder of Year in 1981, he was Tennessee's Builder Representative in Washington in 1986, He served on every committee several times over the past fifty years, in 1977, started the single site Parade of Homes, received five President's Awards, he was inducted in the Tennessee Builders Association Hall of Fame in 2000, he was the first inductee in the HBAMT Hall of Fame in 2016, he is a Lifetime Board Member of HBAMT and the Home Builders Association of Tennessee (HBAT), he was the chairman of the World's fastest built house for Habit for Humanity, creating a Guinness Book of World Record; He was a Jim Fischer Wall of Fame inductee in 2002.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from four until six o'clock in afternoon on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two thirty in the afternoon on Friday, April 15, 2022 in Dignity Hall of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior.
A special thank you to the caregivers from Avalon Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Shrines Hospital for Children or the Nashville Rescue Mission.
Pallbearers will be: Tom Ford, Jim Ford, James Ford, Bill DuPree, Will DuPree, Walker Ford, Jake Plymel and Kevin Longard.
