

James Allen (Jimmy) Kearley died after a long fight with Leukemia in Nashville, TN, on September 22, 2015, in Nashville, TN, at the age of 72. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Kearley of Pulaski, TN; his daughter, Christine Jernigan (Stephen), sister, Joan Drane; nieces, Tina Sharp and Wendy Plessinger; nephew, Jim Drane; other beloved nieces and nephews; and grandchildren, Sydney and James Jernigan. Jimmy was born on March third of 1943 in Mobile, Alabama to James Ausban Kearley and Realta Barnes Kearley. He graduated from West End High School in 1961 and Vanderbilt with a degree in mechanical engineering. He married Mary Alice Brazier on June fifth, 1971. Jimmy was an avid cruising sailor for thirty years and a longtime member of Woodmont Baptist Church. He had a real heart for education in Africa and was instrumental in establishing the Jim Kearley Sierra Leone Children’s Fund. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 27, 2015, at two o’clock in the afternoon at Woodmont Baptist Church with Dr. Jon Roebuck officiating. Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Sunday at one o’clock in the Fellowship Hall at Woodmont Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jim Kearley Sierra Leone Children’s Fund at Woodmont Baptist Church, or the charity of your choice.
