James Edward “Jim” Palmer Jr., age 84, of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away on September 25, 2026. He was born in Paris, Tennessee, on August 27, 1942, to the late James Edward Palmer Sr. and Valeska Palmer.
Jim was married to his beloved wife, Marian Palmer, on July 2, 1989, in Hermitage, Tennessee. He proudly served our country in the military for 12 years. He enjoyed a long career as a machinist with Betty Machine Co., where he was dedicated to his work.
Jim had a passion for camping, radio-controlled airplanes, LEGO’s, and puzzles. He found joy in these hobbies and in spending time with the people he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Palmer Sr. and Valeska Palmer; and his sister, Wanda.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marian Palmer; stepdaughter, Rebecca “Becky” Koenig and her husband, Joel; and grandchildren, Amelia Koenig and Norah Koenig.
Pallbearers will be Joel Koenig, Jim Elrod, Mike Nicholas, Larry Smith, Charles Waterston, and Jim Harkreader.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, US, on October 1, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, US, on October 1, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
