

Ms. Fabian is survived by her sons, Michael M. Fabian (Stacey) of Roswell, GA, and Robert N. Fabian, Jr., of Reno, NV.
She was the daughter of the late Irving Miller and Katheryne Blair Miller and was married for thirty-two years to the late R. N. Fabian, all of Nashville.
She attended Parmer School, Harpeth Hall School, and Hollins University, before graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1963.
Ms. Fabian began ballet training with Albertine Maxwell in Nashville in 1944, and later studied at the School of American Ballet in New York City. After performing with Les Ballets Intimes, a civic ballet company located in Nashville, she taught ballet from 1976 to 1991 at both The Dancer’s Studio and the School of Nashville Ballet. As a founding member of Nashville Ballet, she served as President of the Board from 1981 to 1985, before becoming Administrator of the School of Nashville Ballet and Company Manager. She served as Managing Director of Nashville Ballet from 1993 until 2001. Upon her retirement from the administrative staff, she was appointed a lifetime member of the Board of Directors.
In addition to her work with Nashville Ballet, Ms. Fabian has served on the boards of the McNeilly Day Home (now McNeilly Center for Children), the Junior League of Nashville, the YWCA, the Association for Nonprofit Organizations, and the Tennessee Association of Dance, as well as on the Advisory Committee of the Governor’s School for the Arts. She was a member of the Leadership Nashville Class of 1994, and has served on Leadership Nashville’s Advisory Alumni Board, as well as on the Program Committee for the annual Arts & Entertainment Day. In recent years, she served as a volunteer lobbyist for AARP. She was a member of the First Wednesday Club and the Breakfast Club of Nashville.
Ms. Fabian was a summer resident of Tahoe City, CA, where she was actively involved with the Gatekeepers Museum, Tahoe Youth Ballet, and St. Nicholas Episcopal Church.
Memorial service will be held at eleven-thirty in the morning on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 4715 Harding Road. A second Memorial service will be held at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, Tahoe City, CA in June.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Ms. Fabian’s honor may be made to Nashville Ballet.
