
Jane Farris Haynes Robinson, age 89 of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 15, 2015. She was the daughter of Willis Harvey Haynes and Margaret Malone Haynes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, E. Miller Robinson, Jr. Growing up in Nashville, Jane enjoyed an active social life. She attended Ward-Belmont School for Girls, serving as president of the Triad Club her senior year. After graduating in 1945, she married her long-time sweetheart and began a twenty-year excursion as an “Army wife.” With military assignments in dozens of locations throughout East Asia, Europe, and the U.S., she endured the rigors, sacrifices, and hardships of military life with joy and grace. She returned to Nashville in 1967. Jane was active in her church, serving on the altar guild and at St. Luke’s Community House. She was active in the community, volunteering at Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art, as well as the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, UNICEF, and United Way, among others. Jane was a longtime member of the Nashville City Club, Belle Meade Country Club, and St. George’s Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Willis Harvey Haynes, Jr. (Frances), Melissa Haynes Floyd (Tom), and Robert Lipscomb Haynes (Molly). She is survived by her sons, Miller Robinson, Jim Robinson, John (Elizabeth) Robinson, Patrick (Jennifer) Robinson; grandchildren, Patrick Robinson, Casey Robinson, Lilli Robinson, Elisha Robinson Dragen, Olivia Robinson, Miller Robinson, Helen Robinson. A memorial service will be held on Friday March 20, 2015 at eleven thirty, St. George’s Episcopal Church, 4715 Harding Road, with a gathering of family and friends from ten-thirty until the service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. George Episcopal Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
