

Known for being dedicated, generous, selfless, and compassionate, Janet touched the lives of many. Above all, she was a woman defined by her steadfast faith in Jesus Christ, which guided her life, her relationships, and the love she so freely shared with others.
Janet was born on September 17, 1941, in Tekamah, Nebraska. She spent her early years on a dairy farm and was later raised in California, where she developed the values that would shape her life.
At just 17 years old, she met the love of her life, Bobby, at a military dance. Their connection was immediate, and they were married just a few months later—a union that lasted a beautiful 63 years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby; her son, Jeff; her sisters, Joan Waltman and Karen Drake; her brother, Dennis Modlin; and her parents, Derrel Modlin and Peggy Teare.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Teresa Ferguson and Tracy Barreiro (Efrain).
She also leaves behind many beloved family members: Joshua Hardcastle (Hillary); Chris Hardcastle; Lucas Hardcastle; Zachary Hardcastle; and Amelia Hardcastle; Keely Maskarina (Tony), and their children, Mason and Karson; Elise B. Miller (Caleb), and their son, Ezra; Anna B. Cooper (Cole), and their son, Henry; Kathryn Russell and Austin Russell; Lorene Becker, Peyton Becker (Lea), and Katelyn Becker.
In addition, Janet is survived by her dear brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Her legacy is one of enduring love, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to family.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:30-12 PM with funeral service to follow at 12 PM at Parkway Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
