

Jason married the love of his life, Jensine Andersen Russell, in July 2000 in New York City. He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism from the University of Houston.
Jason was a media planner for 14 years in New York City, Tel Aviv, St. Louis, Detroit, and San Francisco. Later, among his other accomplishments, Jason was a banquet sous-chef at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco for 11 years.
Jason enjoyed planning international trips, driving cross-country, and visiting National Parks. Jason loved to laugh often, meeting one of his favorite comedians, Norm MacDonald, before Norm’s live performance at Cobb’s Comedy Club in San Francisco. In addition, he was. proud Texan: a life-long Dallas Cowboy fan, he enjoyed SEC football road-trips, rooting for the German National soccer team, and visiting all of the Major League Baseball parks.
He was a barbecue aficionado with a penchant for black peppered barbeque brisket. When asked his height, he told folks that he was as tall as Michael Jordan. Jason dreamed of being an Appalachian Trail through-hiker, running the Austin Cap10K and seeing the Singapore Grand Prix.
Jason is survived by Jensine Andersen Russell, his wife, and Steven Russell, his brother. Surviving in-laws include Vanessa Russell, Glenn and Cathy Andersen and Jo Andersen. He leaves behind U.S. and German cousins and his dear Tante Emmy. Lastly, his beloved black cat Spencer will miss him dearly.
Jason was preceded in his dignified death by his parents, Hedi and Samuel Russell, as well as his step-father, Colonel Joseph West.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, family, and anyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11th at the Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
