Jason was born on March 28, 1980 at Nassau Hospital in Mineola, NY, the son of Donna J. Sabia and Frank S. Sabia. He was a 1998 graduate of Palm Beach Gardens High School in Palm Beach, FL.
Following high school, Jason went on to work installing windows and doors. However, Jason truly found his work passion in 2004 in the hospitality industry. He worked at Olive Garden where he was consistently requested by his many loyal customers who quickly became his friends. He left Olive Garden to start with a vending company. This was a position he also grew to love, and was just another part of the hospitality industry that he loved. Perhaps his favorite position was the one he held prior to COVID-19 effecting our world. This position was at Jack Daniels Barrel House in the Bridgestone Arena. Here Jason would truly thrive as a bartender and manager, and he enjoyed his job so much that he never considered it be ‘work’. He loved serving and working with people, and was attentive and very devoted to his many customers.
Always carrying a big smile, Jason made friends very easily. He was genuinely happy, kind, and caring. He especially had a way of making anyone feel welcome with his big hugs and uplifting nature.
Jason loved playing his guitar, and he self-taught himself. He loved to make music, and in his earlier years he preferred heavy metal, and in his later years he grew to enjoy classic rock and jazz too. This perhaps could have been to please his mother though. Jason was a huge Nashville Predators fan, and working at Barrel House was the perfect fit.
Surviving is his mother, Donna J. Sabia of Nashville; and his beloved fur friends, Shaggy, Daisy, and Dolly.
Preceding Jason in death is his father and grandmother.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be on Monday, September 14, 2020 from four o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204. Jason’s Priest, Father John will preside over a short prayer service at four-thirty. Eulogies will be given throughout the evening by those who wish to share.
