Jean Anne Hall Tye Ragan, 67, passed away on September 21, 2026 at Alive Hospice of Nashville, after several months at Vanderbilt Hospital. She was born on January 25, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee, the only child of Doug and Jean Hall.
A lifelong resident of Nashville, Jean Anne attended Brookmeade Elementary School, and high school at Brentwood Academy. She was an alumnus of Belmont University, graduating in 1981 with a degree in English literature.
After completing her undergraduate degree, she began a banking career in downtown Nashville at Nashville City Bank. Later she became the manager of the Bellevue branch of First American Bank, remaining there as the branch transitioned to AmSouth Bank and finally Regions Bank. Though she was offered opportunities to advance into corporate level banking, her heart was always with her community of Bellevue, her local customers, and in mentoring newer employees to launch long-term banking careers.
She was a passionate supporter of the Doug Hall Relays, a track and field event which was established in 1987 to honor her father who made an indelible mark on high school sports in the Nashville area over a 30-year career as a teacher and coach.
Jean Anne was preceded in death by her parents Doug and Jean; and her cherished collies Prissy, Cissy, Maggie May, and Laurel. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ray Ragan, son and daughter-in-law Nathan and Tina Ragan, daughter and son-in-law Lindsay and Robbie Blevins, grandchildren Evan, Kellen, Bella, Kenai, and Joe Ragan, and Marley, Owen, and Jonah Blevins; great-grandson Atlas Ragan and soon to be born great-granddaughter Eleanor Ragan; honorary nephew and niece Tom Garner and Zoe Garner; as well as other extended family, and countless treasured friends, colleagues, and customers.
