

Mrs. Jeanie Lazenby Masten age 74, of Nashville, TN, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Mrs. Masten was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on October 15, 1941, the daughter of the late William Lowry “Hopper” and Virginia Hampton Lazenby.
She was an alumnus of the University of Kentucky where she was awarded the Engineer Queen of University. She was an entrepreneur in real estate. Also, she was an investor in Chumley’s Restaurant. Mrs. Masten was a member of Whosoever Will Ministries Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Masten was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Talbot Masten.
Survivors include a son, John Talbot Masten, III (Summer Barefoot); a daughter, Elizabeth Masten Frensley; grandchildren, Emily Engle Masten, Chloe Elizabeth Masten, John Dudley Hassey, and Chandler Ford Hassey; and two brothers, Roland Lowry Lazenby (Karen) and Hampton Kyle Lazenby (Ellen).
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016, at four o’clock, Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Rev. Ron Embry officiating.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Saturday from two thirty until four o’clock at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
Flowers accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Dr. John Talbot Masten, Jr. Scholarship Fund of Tennessee State University.
