Jere Robert Lee, age 63 of Nashville, passed away at home December 14, 2017 following a courageous battle with ALS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hulon Granville Lee and Nell Puryear Lee. He is survived by his devoted family: wife, Evon Batey Lee; daughters, Rachel (Kurt) Hippel, Nicole (Tyler) Rhoden, and Katie Lee (Reggie Ford); granddaughters, Caroline, Amory, Anna and Tess; brother, David (Sheridan) Lee, and in-laws, Richard and Carolyn Batey. Mr. Lee earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Vanderbilt University and practiced law in Tennessee until illness forced his retirement in 2015. In addition to his family, he loved traveling, gardening, hiking, fishing, backpacking, and Vanderbilt sports (especially baseball). He was blessed with a host of friends and maintained his wry sense of humor throughout his physical challenges. Visitation will take place Tuesday, December 19th from 1:30 to 2:45 pm, with services to follow at 3:00 pm at West End United Methodist Church, 2200 West End Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association (www.alstn.org), Appalachian Trail Conservancy (appalachiantrail.org), or Alive Hospice (alivehospice.org).
