Jerry Carlee Rains of Nashville, TN passed away on July 31, 2020 at home, after battling sarcoma for six months. It is more fair to say cancer battled him, however, he won, because now he is pain free.
Mr. Rains was born on February 26, 1950 to the late Coy Levis Rains and Ann Cox Rains.
He is survived by his two sons, Bradley and Jacob Rains, four siblings; Barbara Reynolds (Lloyd), Brenda Frechette, Kenneth Rains (Angie), and Mary Ann Bakke.
Jerry was a rock band teacher at Hillwood High School and H.G. Middle School in Nashville, TN. Having previously spent twenty-six years in Booneville, Mississippi teaching music, seventeen of which were the director of Campus Country, at Northeast Mississippi Community College.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the nurses and doctors of the Vanderbilt University Medical Clinic, especially Dr. Elizabeth Davis, Sky Shah, and LaShawnda Qualls, as well as the doctors and nurses of Avalon Hospice; Jamie Dickey and Jessica Neely.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Woodlawns Dignity Hall on Friday, August 7,2020 at two-o’clock in the afternoon.
