Jerry Wyatt Wilson

Jerry Wyatt Wilson, age 90, of Springfield, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025. Born on March 18, 1935, in Nashville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Sam Jones Wilson and Helen Margaret Wilson.

Jerry was a proud graduate of Cumberland High School, where he served as class president and earned varsity letters in football, baseball, and basketball. He was also honored by his classmates with the superlatives of "Most Courteous" and "Neatest."

In 1965, he married the love of his life, Ava Wilson, in Robertson County, Tennessee. Jerry had a long and dedicated career with Consolidated Freightways before retiring. He was actively involved in his community, serving as president of the Civitan Club and a member of the Shriners.

A true sports enthusiast, Jerry especially loved University of Tennessee football. He found joy in tending to his yard, appreciating music and art, and spending cherished time with his family—particularly his grandchildren, who brought him great pride and happiness.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Tammy Lynn Wilson, and his son Stan Wilson.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Ava Wilson; sons Victor Wilson and Jeff Wilson; daughters Lisa Margaret Wilson and Renee Reed (husband Ron); eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, with burial immediately afterward at the same location.
