Jess Stewart Shearin

Mr. Shearin was born in Rover, Tn and was a graduate of Community High School and Middle Tennessee State University. While at MTSU he received a degree in Accounting and later became a CPA. He also served two years in the US Air Force stationed in Harlington, Tx. Mr. Shearin worked as the Secretary/ Treasurer of Shoney’s Corporation for many years. He and his wife Carolyn went on to purchase several of their own franchises around Middle Tennessee. In addition to his many career achievements, he was active in church and community organizations such as The Rotary Club and Junior Achievement.

Survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Tuggle Shearin and daughter Sandra Shearin Gaskins (Brian) also daughter of the late Sara Pewitt Dotson from Bedford County. Loving Step Father to Jennifer Menchaca, the late Kimberly Allen, Kristi Walden (Wade) and the late John Scott Harper.

Dear Brother of the late Sarah Elmore Peirman and late James Edmond Shearin.

Cherished Grandfather of Brandi Jirka (Leo) and Lori Gaskins. Cherished Step Grandfather of Matthew, Dylan, Caroline, Peyton, Lilybeth, and Whittman.

Great Grandfather of Leojon and Julia Jirka.

Loving Son of the late Jess Stewart Shearin, Sr and late Nettie Read Shearin of Bedford County.

Also survived by Nephew David Reid Shearin and Nieces Wanda Elmore Kesler (Junior) and Dianne Shearin Kantorik (Eric)

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Ln Nashville, TN 37204 on Thursday, August 12th 2021 at 2pm.
