

Jimmy Louis Adams, Sr., age 78, went to be with his Lord on September 29, 2018. Preceded in death by wife, Barbara Woodard Adams, parents, Walter James Adams and Hazel Ellen Warpool, sisters, Betty Todd and Judy Harrison, and brother, Billy Adams. Survived by son, Jimmy Louis Adams, Jr., granddaughter, Lauren Marie Adams Teal (Travis), grandson, Austin Tyler Adams, and sisters, Barbara Tidwell (Larry), Mary Mitchell (Jerry), and Ellen Creecy (Raymond).
Jimmy was born in 1939 in Rutherford County, TN. Being the oldest of seven children, he cared for and supported his younger siblings. After moving to Nashville, he met and married his beloved wife, Barbara Kay Woodard. He was the chaplain at his local union, a deacon at Harsh Chapel Baptist Church, and most recently a greeter at First Baptist Church of Donelson. He was employed at Avco Aerostructures for over forty years before retiring. Upon retirement, he became an avid collector of baseball memorabilia, coins, and other collectibles, setting up a booth at the Nashville Flea Market for many years. During his adult life he was an avid bowler, a Vanderbilt baseball fan, and a gospel music enthusiast.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11:00. Family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Sarah Cannon Cancer Center. https://www.sarahcannon.com
