Jimmy Gaurey Wright, age 72, of Cookeville and Nashville, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Mr. Wright was the son of the late Johnnie J. and Gusta Wilmoth Wright. He is preceded by a daughter, Tammy Tara Wright. Mr. Wright is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce B. Wright; daughter, Mindy Wright Raines; grandchildren, Bronson Turner Wright Raines and Rikki Raquel Raines; and brother, Jere Wright. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Saturday at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Hobbs officiating. Placement to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Wright attended Tennessee Technological University and graduated from The University of Tennessee. He opened Wright Optical in Nashville and Cookeville. Mr. Wright was also a successful real estate developer, with one of his developments being Interstate Drive in Cookeville. He retired after 25 years of service in the Tennessee National Guard.
