Born June 12, 1944, to Dallas Green Caudle and Betty Oehmig, Jo Ann was a devout Catholic who spent her early days in Nashville. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1963 and married Stephen G. Miller, III, on August 20, 1966. The couple welcomed a son, Jeffery Lyn Miller, in 1969. In the early 80’s, the family moved to Marietta, GA, where Jo Ann stayed until Steve’s passing in 2016. She then relocated to Knoxville, TN, to be closer to her son and his family.
Jo Ann was an LPN for many years and later worked in medial insurance claims. She served in several capacities at Carroon & Black, New York Life, and Wellstar until her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and fishing and was an avid quilter. One of her proudest accomplishments was making quilts for Olympic athletes at the 1996 Games in Atlanta.
Her outgoing personality, deep sense of humor and love, and passion for animals touched many lives up until her last days.
Jo Ann will be missed greatly by her son Jeffery, grand-daughter Harper Grace Miller, brother Dal Caudle, sister Barbara Caudle, and canine companion Samantha.
Funeral services are being provided by Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. A graveside service will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens on June 6, 2020, at 11 AM. There will be a brief family viewing beginning at 10:15.
