May 22, 2019 surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 77. Born on April 19,1942 in
Indianapolis, IN. Joanie married Floyd R. Fancher in 1963 and together they had two daughters.
She worked as a cosmetologist, bank teller and in home child care provider for years in Paoli, IN,
before moving to Antioch, TN. in 1996. After moving to Tennessee, she worked in the banking
industry as a teller and last working as a researcher for Regions Bank/Amsouth Bank until her
retirement in 2008. Joanie enjoyed her retirement playing bingo each week, attending prayer
breakfast with her friends and playing cards each Friday night with her Cackle Club. Joanie was
an active member of Lakeshore Christian Church, a life time member of Girl Scouts of America,
a 50 year member of Phi Beta Psi Sorority and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern
Star.
Surviving are her sister, Janet L. Tapp of Bloomington, IN. , two daughters, Janita J. Sanders
(Chris) and Lynita L. Morgan (Devon) both of Antioch, Tn. She had four grandchildren, Jantilyn
J. Sanders (18), Christian L. Morgan (17), Kaitlyn A. Sanders(15), and Cameron L. Morgan(13),
her dear Cackle Club gals, and many other close friends. She is predeceased by her parents, John
Tapp and W. Louise Stumpf Tapp, and her husband, Floyd R. Fancher.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at Lakeshore Christian Church in
Antioch. Family visitation will begin at 2:00pm with the service beginning at 3:00pm. Pastor
Randy Cordell will be officiating. Flowers may be sent to Lakeshore Christian Church, or
donations made in Joanie’s honor to Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Society or Lakeshore
Christian Church.
