I just found out about John's passing in the alumni magazine.  I graduated 10 years after John but had the pleasure and honor of working for him at Ebasco.  He was a great leader and a gentleman.

John was a good friend and colleague. I will miss his phone calls and humor. I learned alot working with John and may God bless him and his whole family. He spoke often about his wife and children to me and I felt I knew them even though we never met.

We always remember the good times, the laughs, and the serious discussions we had.  Never to be forgotten.

It was truly our blessing in life to have been given such a wonderful daddy.  Dad sacrificed his own wants for the wants of his family.  He was a world traveler, hard worker and a warrior for our country.  Dad never complained about catching a flight in the middle of the night after only being home for the weekend.  He never complained about his long hours at the office.  His sacrifices did not go unnoticed or unappreciated; Kyle and I have wonderful lives because of the values he taught us. We try to ease our sadness by saying God needed the best project manager in heaven and his work was done on earth.
   I miss you everyday daddy, You are truly amazing and I will love you for all eternity.

So sad to have lost my Uncle/Godfather.  He will never be forgotten, we all have to hold our memories close to our heart.

Lost my Dad. I've put men into the ground, and its never easy. Losing Dad was especially hard. He was my friend, best man, my kids grandfather and the beacon in my life. In the end, he went out the warrior he was. There was nothing I could do but be there. I hoped to keep the angel of death away, but I couldn't. Into the breach he went, too early... his mission here accomplished. Hope to be half the man you were Dad. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I will see you again and we can finish that beer. 

To his classmates of '63, know that he had such fond memories of you guys... his stories inspired me to service with US Navy. He served in Vietnam, I served in Iraq.  I hope I carried your legacy with honor Dad.

I hope to meet some of you guys and share some of those memories at some point.  Fair winds and following seas Dad... I've got the watch.

Words can't express how saddened I am to learn of John's passing.
Take comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord.
May the love and memories shared help you through the days ahead.

Gone but not forgotten.  We will be remembering John in September when the Maritime College class of 1963 celebrates their 50th anniversary.
