John Tillman Lykins

John Lykins, aged 71, passed away on September 10, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was born and raised. Known as an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church, John provided audio assistance to the church choir on Sunday mornings and was a well-known, and frequent, volunteer for Room in the Inn, a resource dedicated to Nashville’s homeless population.

In his free time, John enjoyed being active and frequently went for walks around the neighborhood, exercised at the YMCA, and went golfing weekly. John was a big fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers having graduated from there in 1975.

Preceded in death by his parents Robert and Elinor. He is survived by his two children, Dana and Brett.

The family would like to thank Adoration Hospice for the care and compassion they showed him in his final days.

Visitation and memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 21st at Immanuel Baptist Church; 222 Belle Meade Blvd., Nashville, TN 37205. Pastor Steven Meriwether to officiate. Following the service, the immediate family will travel to Henderson, TN where John will be laid to rest next to his mother, Elinor, in the Hill-Lykins family plot.
