John loved family gatherings, watching sports (with or without his kids competing), being on the water or outdoors, reading, and writing. John practiced law in Dyersburg from 1973-1994 and in Murfreesboro from 1994 until the day before his passing. John was a man of many thoughts and few words.
John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan; his daughters Sandy (Evan) and Sarah; son David "Chip" (Alice); and 7 grandchildren.
Visitation Mon., 12-21-15, from 5-7PM and Memorial service 7-7:30 at 1st Cumberland Pres. Church, 907 E. Main, Murfreesboro, TN. Private burial at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery.
