Julie was born December 10, 1942 in Richmond, VA to Florence Green and Frank Leonard Weiland. They moved to Nashville when she was six weeks old and she was a lifelong Nashvillian with a brief stay in Cumming, GA.
She graduated from West End High School in 1960 and had a love of the school that continued throughout her life. She was instrumental in the founding and development of the Alumni Association and participated in all of the events of the group.
Julie followed her family involvement in education in Nashville with a thirty year career at Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. She served as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Schools. Upon her retirement in 2007, she moved to Cumming, GA to be near her son and his family. She moved to Hendersonville in 2010.
Julie is survived by her sons Jerry W Jarrett, Jr (Steve) of Hendersonville and his children Harper Jarrett of Atlanta, GA and Carter Jarrett of Cumming, GA; Jeffrey Leonard Jarrett of Hendersonville and his children Joslyn Jarrett of Nashville, Jaclyn Jarrett of Hendersonville, and Jeryn Jarrett of Hendersonville; and a niece, Elizabeth Whitaker of Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by her partner, Norm Krantz of Gallatin, TN. She leaves behind innumerable friends, a chair on the beach, and her kittens Bonnie and Clyde.
Visitation will be at Woodlawn on Thursday, February 20, from 4-7 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 21 at Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Gallatin, Tennessee. Visitation will be held at the church from 12-2 with the service following. Please wear something blue as this was her favorite color.
