Kathleen Marie Dungan, of Nashville, TN, passed away in her sleep early on the morning of February 20, 2016. Kathy’s life was one of caring; the world was richer for her presence, and will feel her loss. Kathy was born on November 15, 1960, and at the age of 55 she left us too soon. Born in Rapid City, South Dakota to George Clinton and E. Maureen (nee Powers) Dungan, Kathy grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and Perkasie, Pennsylvania. After attending Pennridge High School, Kathy graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She began working as a teacher, specializing in the education of children with profound disability. In 1993 Kathleen graduated from the University of Nebraska, College of Law with a Juris Doctor, and began a career of providing public service to underprivileged and vulnerable clients. She worked in a number of roles in State government in New Mexico and Tennessee, helping benefit recipients. Kathleen was quick to volunteer, often supporting non-profit fund-raising efforts. She loved music and her lifelong love of sports was evident by her vocal support of her local Nashville Predators. Kathleen is survived by her loving friend, Michelle Dube, of Nashville, TN; her parents, George and Maureen Dungan, of Perkasie, PA; four brothers, George Dungan, II ( Josie) of Dallas, TX; Kurt Dungan ( Patty) of Downingtown, PA; Mark Dungan (Diane) of Reading, PA; and Michael Dungan (Marianne) of Trappe, PA; and dozens of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
