Kyrie Brooke Cox left this world suddenly in the early morning hours of Thursday, November 21, 2019.

Kyrie was a true light in the world and touched so many in her short time here. Fun, funny, kind, spunky, and confident beyond her years, Kyrie was more unique and special than what can be put into words. She made friends easily and was fiercely loyal to them. She had many interests, from cooking, writing, music, and art, to science, nature, and animals. She made every attempt to seek, learn, and find joy and wonder in the world, all in an effort to make and find everything "FABULOUS." She is and will be forever missed by her family and friends, loved beyond measure, and held close in a special place in our hearts.

Our only request is that anyone that can, wear their funkiest 80's or thrift clothes on behalf of Kyrie's style that she loved. We want to do our best to have a celebration in honor of her at the gathering and service.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6 p.m.

I taught Kyrie math in 5th grade at Croft. She was such a smart and funny kid. She looked like a little blond dandelion in my classroom. She was just so awesome, and kind, and precious. Later, I used to anticipate passing by her in the 7th grade hallway to admire her spunky wear. Thank you for visiting our lives, little angel.

This world is a better place because of the wise, kind, and creative soul of Kyrie.

You were not in my class, but always in and out of my classroom for tea parties, lunch with friends, and the occasional UNO game. You made a lasting impression on me (and countless others) and I'm grateful to have known you. I will honor you by being kind, being true to myself, and finding joy in life.

To Kyrie's family, I am holding you all in my heart and in my thoughts.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Anderson

Kyrie was a beautiful, bright soul, taken from us far too soon. She was kind and loving and fiercely smart, encouraged to fully be herself and flourish by her wonderful parents and sisters. I'm grateful I got to know her. Our family and the world are dimished without her light. You're all in my thoughts and heart daily.
Love,
Marie

Upon receiving the notice in my email about flowers for Kyrie inspired me to write a little poem. I would play Uno with Kyrie sometimes at lunch and she always chided me and said "I am the UNO QUEEN"
Flowers for Kyrie...the subject reads, flowers are used to brighten a day...Flowers for Kyrie.Flowers are given as an expression of love, encouragement, and too beautify...Flowers for Kyrie. The subject line read:Flowers for Kyrie. Flowers given to denote concern, empathy, and compassion...flowers for Kyrie. Bright, fragrant, simple, expressive. The subject line read Flowers. For. Kyrie.
Kyrie, thank you for the flowers you gave us everyday.
With Sincere Sympathy, Mia Washington. Croft 2019

No surprise Kyrie played softball. I wish I could have met her. I hope you all can find strength in each other.

The thoughts and prayers of my family are with you now more than ever.

Kyrie had such a big, kind heart. You could be in such a bad mood and she would make everything better with her bubbly personality. She will be missed so much.

Kyrie always tried to find the good in people. This is a quality that is hard to come by today.
On a daily basis, her clever wit and infectious smile made the classroom a warm, welcoming place.
She was, without a doubt, an old soul and wise beyond her years. From being an Outsiders fanatic to a lover of the movie Lost Boys, her eclectic taste was admired.
Kyrie, you will be missed. Rest easy.
