Born September 3, 1960, Lee Ann Moore Stacy of Antioch, Tennessee passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025 at the age of 64. Lee Ann was the second of four children born and was preceded in death by her parents Helen Elizabeth Rush (4/28/38 - 11/25/2000) and Malcolm Denton Moore (4/17/38- 10/19/2006).
She is survived by her three sisters, Barbara, Dorothy, and Nancy; her children, Christopher Michael (Kayla Sherrod) and Justin Lee Stacy; as well as the light of her spirit- two beautiful granddaughters, Shamya Sherrod and Margot Stacy. In the early to mid 1980s, Lee Ann met & married a companion & friend; Michael, and were united as One for almost 23 years, with raising their two sons being their proudest accomplishment together.
Lee Ann began her career in Early Childhood Education after graduating from Antioch High School in 1979, where she was a band member and well rounded student. She absolutely loved working with children, and her passion for working with toddlers was undeniable. After spending much of Christopher and Justin’s childhood and adolescence working in the childcare sector, Lee Ann began working with Metro Nashville Public Schools in 2000.
As a Special Education teacher assistant for Metro, she began to blossom her talents and love for teaching children at Wright Middle School. Lee Ann was also very active in the Special Olympics of Middle Tennessee, as well as the numerous events and extra curricular activities associated with Wright Middle. Similarly to holding the title as ‘Team Mom’ when Christopher grew up playing ball, there was not a game or event she could afford to miss, as those were her children too. The relationships that accompanied her in journey turned many of her closest peers into family throughout her career, and up until her retirement from MNPS in 2019.
Lee Ann’s spirit was irresistible, and her smile and laughter were contagious to those around her. A proud Antioch Alumnus, she reconnected throughout the years with so many people. If you depended upon her in times of need, she remained a devoted and loving confidante and lifelong friend.
Enjoying activities such as creative artistry, having a passion for horses, or being enamored by an old rugged barn; Lee Ann was a simple yet adventurous woman, that loved every moment of the life she lived.
Music was her soundtrack to every blessed day, from Sir Elton John to The Eagles. She was always a proud enthusiast of her University of Tennessee Vols, and even though some disagreed; she’d smile and engage in the friendly competitive banter. “It’s all good, there’s enough teams to go around”, she would say. Lee Ann ultimately found serenity in the calmness of the beach at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina many times while vacationing with family & friends.
Quoting from one of her favorite films, ‘Mary Poppins’, Lee Ann was an absolute angel who was “Practically Perfect In Every Way”. Other film favorites were ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Grease’. Angel in training “Clarence” in ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ showed her at a very early age that “No man is a failure who has friends”, while thanking George for helping him earn is wings. Now a Guardian Angel herself, her jovial spirit will continue to live on in her memory for her friends and love ones for eternity.
We love you Lee Ann, “to the moon and back, Moon back home; yeah.”
