Lee Santiago

Benny Lee Santiago, age 79, passed away on January 16, 2025, after suffering an extended illness with dementia. Lee Santiago was a graduate of Cumberland High School and then attended the University of Tennessee, Nashville. Branch. Most of Lee’s working career was with Nashville Gas Company where he was employed for 30+ years. After leaving the Gas Company, he, along with a partner, started their own rental property business. Lee loved sports of all kinds, especially football, which he played in high school. He was a Titan’s season ticket holder and spent many Sunday afternoons enjoying his team compete. Lee loved life, an adventurous type. He loved snow skiing, water skiing, boating and travelling. He attended Hickory Hollow Baptist church where he worshipped his Lord and Savior. Pastor Ray Clubb will be conducting the Celebration of Life service.

Mr. Santiago was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah Bridges Santiago and Plutarco Santiago; his brother, Robert Santiago and sister Elsie Tassini. He is survived by his loving caretaker and life partner, Joanne Jenkins; his daughter, Amy Holloway; his son, Darrin Lee Santiago; his sister, Linda (Bill) Weeks. Lee was blessed with three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mr. Santiago will be remembered for his funny personality, his kindness and his ability to love and preserver no matter his challenges and hardships.

Pallbearers will be Rick Stevens, Bill Weeks, David Davis, Dalton Poore, Brian Poore and Matthew McCloud.

A visitation for Lee will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mount Olivet Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1101 LEBANON PIKE, NASHVILLE, TN 37210. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 1101 LEBANON PIKE, NASHVILLE, TN 37210. A graveside service will occur Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 1101 LEBANON PIKE, NASHVILLE, TN 37210.
