Leona is survived by her daughter, Joan (Doug) Geary of Old Hickory, TN, and her siblings: Shirley Nelson, Albert “Pud” Cook, Mabel “Rosie” Wilson, Sharon Barnum, Danny (Diane) Cook, and Mary (Merle) Avis. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Mary “Cindy” Valentine, Anthony (Maryann) Davis, Stephanie (Ryan) Geary, and Kimberly (Clint) Thomas, as well as her great-grandchildren: Justin Valentine, Bethany Valentine, Austin Valentine, Hayden Trey Davis, and Courtney Brooke Davis.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Nancy Cook (nee Gibson), her husband, Reverend Fred H. Davis, her son, Reverend Fred A. Davis, and her siblings: infant Charles Cook and Belva Deloris Keller.
A service will be held Friday, December 1st, 2023, at 2PM at New Life Baptist Church, 207 West Street Athens, IL 62613 (217) 636-8076 after which she will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens, IL.
