We were blessed to visit Box and Pam a few yrs. ago. Such kindness and hospitality they showed us. Box had been researching the family history and shared with us information about past ancestors. One ancestor was a Civil War General! He also took us around to see all the sites and to where a civil war battle was fought in Franklin. You could see the bullet holes still in the building. They also visited us a few years back and we had such a wonderful time together. Good people who have the love of Jesus in their hearts. We will miss Box greatly but rejoice with the family that he is enjoying Eternal Life with our Lord in heaven! We send love, prayers and condolences. Chuck and Heidi

Box was one of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever known. At a particularly difficult time in my life he took me aside and said "if there is anything you ever need Pam and I will be here for you". I experienced instant peace because everyone knew that Box meant what he said. Blessings and grace, mercy and peace to Pam, Catherine, Pamela and all of his grandchildren, family and friends.

I guess I was about 7 or 8 and “Uncle Box” helped my mom make me a beautifully hand made wooden doll house. He and mom put hardwood floors in it. I spent hours playing with it and Allison also enjoyed it as a child. I will always treasure it and think of him when I see it. I am so thrilled that my children were able to experience his sweet spirit and see him and “Aunt Pam” partner in such a sweet marriage. Love you!

My sincere condolences to the Hawkins family in its loss of this pillar of both the family and the Nashville community. His commitment to a Christ filled life by example was epitomized by his many contributions to his fellow men.

See you later, Box.

Box was a great person with whom to work and I'll always remember his calm demeanor, humility, and patience as he tirelessly fielded my myriad questions posed almost every day for 3 years as a young man in my mid 20's. Thank you, again, Box.
