Lillian Shacklett McAdams

McAdams, Lillian Shacklett - Age 90 of Nashville, died March 24, 2012. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Elizabeth McQuiddy and Samuel Wilson Shacklett. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert E. McAdams; her son, Robert S. (Alda Rae) McAdams; grandchildren, Ashley Brooke McAdams of New York City, NY and Robert Gordon McAdams of Denver, CO; sister, Emily S. Shanklin of Dallas, TX; nieces, Elizabeth Shanklin of New York City, Eleanor Hovey Rodgers and Merilyn Hovey (William Bush III) Herbert, both of Nashville. Special thanks go to Dr. Tracey Doering and Eunice Frierson who has been with her for over 50 years. She graduated from Ward Belmont and attended Vanderbilt University where she was a member of Tri Delta sorority. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and, with her husband, of Belle Meade Country Club. In former years she was a member of James K. Polk and Ladies Hermitage Associations and the Colonial Dames. She was a founder and first president of the Four Seasons Garden Club. Burial service will be private.
