Linda Gaye Williams

Linda Gaye Williams, age 77, of La Vergne, Tennessee, passed away peacefully. Born on November 3, 1948, in Nashville, Tennessee, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Mary L. Williams and James A. Williams.

Linda was a proud graduate of Glencliff High School, Class of 1967, and continued her education at Tennessee Tech, where she completed two years of business studies. She dedicated 35 years of faithful service to the State of Tennessee as a Human Resource Analyst before retiring.

A woman of deep compassion and strength, Linda was known for always making sure the people around her felt loved. She was funny, thoughtful, smart, and fiercely independent. She would move mountains to help any person or animal in need. Truly, she had a heart of gold and loved all of God’s creatures.

Linda found joy in life’s simple and creative pleasures. She loved crafting and decorating for every holiday, taking pictures, shopping, spending time with friends and family, and going to the movies. She also gave generously of her time volunteering with the Nashville Humane Association and took special pride in working in her flower bed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and James Williams.

Linda is survived by her sisters, Brenda (Don) Phelps and Cindy (Roy) Williams-Bacigalupo; her nephews, DJ (Sherry) Phelps, Daniel Phelps, and Joey Bacigalupo; her nieces, Kelly (Ian) Benson, Jamie Bacigalupo, and Jenna Bacigalupo; her great-nieces, Aubree Barker and Lillian Barker; and her great-nephews, Matthew Phelps, Jacob Phelps and Benjamin Phelps. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service following from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Linda’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for others will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
