Lois Elizabeth (Ervin) McDowell, age 95, recently of Knoxville, Tennessee, departed from her loved ones on Monday, April 29, 2019. She was a longtime resident of Nashville, Tennessee, and a past resident of Ardmore, Alabama and Columbia, Tennessee. Lois was retired from the State of Tennessee, where she was a Food Services Manager at Spencer Youth Center. Her husband was retired Air Force and she lived and traveled around the world as his spouse.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Paul McDowell; parents, George Thomas Ervin and Floy Florence (Wales) Ervin; daughters, Sandra Dale (Bullard) Wigtion and Dwana Gale Bullard; and nine siblings, Velma Watkins, Clara Collins, Loreen Toone, Audrey (Pat) Toone, Claudie Ervin, John Ervin, Howard (Monk) Ervin, Hubert Ervin, and Van Ervin. She is survived by daughter, Dolores McDowell-Schaffer; grandchildren, Martin Wigtion, Byron Schaffer, Katherine Schaffer, and Sarah Schaffer; great grandchildren, Nicholas Wigtion and Cassandra Wigtion; and great, great grandson, Elijah Wigtion. Lois was fortunate to have many kind and loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation is at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Nashville from 11:30-2:30 Sunday, May 5, 2019. The funeral service follows at 2:30 with committal immediately afterward.
